Swift, Buckeye and Bo
Swift, Buckeye and Bo

February 12, 2010

Today we had the pleasure of being joined by Buckeye’s longtime friend and mentor Bo.  Together we summited Mission Peak in Fremont, CA.  We had beautiful weather allowing for the scenic panorama of the Bay Area along with a slight wind chill atop.

The 6-mile round trip hike was not super lengthy but did include some steep pitches in the 2200 ft + gain.  Bo had his reservations as the trail quickly became steep after leaving the parking lot, but with little difficulty he stood atop with us and shared our water a cheeto from another friendly hiker.

The time passed quickly as we were all engaged in cutting conversation.  I have a feeling Bo is reading this so thank you for your wittiness and wisdom.
We enjoyed a delicious Safeway sandwich and relaxed in the hot tub before putting some beef jerkey in the dehydrator.  Excitement about the Olympic buzz and another trip to REI tomorrow.  Enjoying the sunshine and not having to wear snowpants everywhere.  Until next time…

Not super lengthy?!? I thought you said it was like a hike to the top of Yosemite Falls! I can’t believe you both did that with 10+ lbs on your backs, and meanwhile I have to do physical therapy for two weeks to recover. 😉

Anyway, thanks for a great time and getting me out of the house. And let me point out that I’ve had a superhero name for way longer than you guys.

always,
