Wow… 2014…
As I sit down to write this note, I am still in shock by how time has flown by so quickly. I can still vividly remember the many scribbles of possible business names as I sat on a couch during a shift break as a naturalist in Santa Cruz. And then there is the founding footsteps of our life-changing hike along the Pacific Crest Trail while raising scholarship funds for students from low-income families to attend outdoor education schools. 2013 marked the kick-off of youth backpacking programs in Tahoe National Forest, where we cheered on our fellow young hikers as they jumped into crisp, blue lakes with expressions of pure excitement and awe. In these five years, InspireOut has formed an infrastructure of love for the outdoors, personal wellness & awareness, as well as sustainability to inspire and share with others. Five years later, we have the greatest fans cheering us on as we continue to grow and I am grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you. In 2014, we have many exciting programs to explore the outdoors with adventurers of all ages. Check out the links below to learn more! And if you ever have any questions, be sure to ask our office elves at info@inspireout.org.
Backpacking Basics
This summer, InspireOut will be running a variety of 3 day-2 night and 4 day-3 night backpacking programs for youth, age 10-12 or 13-16, and adults, age 21+. In addition, for ladies looking to advance their skills in the backcountry, we have an age 25+ ladies-only program from Friday, June 20- Sunday June 22! InspireOut incorporates a philosophy of leadership and stewardship while also providing unique blends of inspiration through different subject areas such as art, astronomy, cooking, survival skills, and more. Participants will have the chance to step away from the distractions of the busy world to explore nature’s wonders, while also developing confidence and personal awareness in an outdoor setting.
