With the harsh Sierra part of the trail behind them, Melissa and Justin are safe and, I hope, warm and dry in Yosemite – at mile 941.6!  If they aren’t excited about taking a little break and getting some rest – I am, because I will get to see them at this stop (big smile).

Earlier this afternoon, Melissa and Justin arrived in Tuolumne Meadows.  From the satellite view, it looks like the PCT crosses Tioga Road near the Tuolumne Meadows Store.

I discovered a fun tool – made possible by the creative techies at Google.  It’s called Postholer.Com and it shows all sorts of helpful information about hiking trails.  If you select the Pacific Crest Trail, you can use all the Google Map features (like street view, if it’s available) – plus it has information updates regarding trail conditions, water sources and lots of other information.  I am guessing that this site isn’t new to most folks familiar with the PCT, but I wanted to mention it.

Here’s where they are now:

and to get perspective on how far they’ve come – and what they have left…

More to come soon!
